The QXS 16 — 16,000 lb. Powered Decoiler

The Engage QXS 16 is the best, most affordable decoiling solution for wide coverage machine in the US market. The frame of the QXS is made of heavy duty 3/4 inch i-beams and welded steel construction. The load on the decoiler is supported by four precision machined steel rollers with sealed bearings. The expansion of the unit is supported on each pad by three sliding expansion tools rather than less expensive scissor expansions.

These tools are cut into incline planes. When the expansion hydraulic cylinder is actuated the tools slide on each other, expanding the mandrel. With this design there is no way for a catastrophic failure and the evenly distributed surface pressure means the machine should last for a lifetime.

The machine has a hydraulic motor with hydraulic flow control for long life. Most machines in the market have electrical on-off controls which lead to jerking and premature wear. This hydro flow control design is superior to sprocket and roller chains giving the customer a smooth rotating cycle. The machine has a brake control that is mounted in a solid, damned near indestructible, floor unit. This floor unit controls a solenoid which allows the decoiler to ramp down. This means less wear and tear than normal on/off units.

The machine is wired to operate on 230 volts, 3-phase, 60 Hertz AC power supply. Complete electric controls, disconnect switch, and 110 push button station are mounted on unit. Limit switches automatically control rotation. The machine accommodates 48” wide coils.

The QXS 16C — 16,000 lb. Decoiler with Coil Cart

The Engage QXS 16C is a 16,000-pound decoiler with a coil cart. The coil cart makes the machine a marvel of efficiency. When dealing with wide coverage panels one of the most dangerous things to the edge of the material is the loading of coil onto the mandrel with a forklift. If you damage one 10,000 lb coil where you cannot use it, you have cost yourself the price of the coil cart.

The QXSC is different from the regular decoiler in a couple of key ways. The machine has 16 inch i-beams as the frame. Its dimensions are 144 inches by 44 inches. The coil cart is 34 inches wide which is wider than most coil carts, giving you a much stronger base and ensuring that coils don’t tip off.

The coil cart works on a 1/2” by 2” track that is welded to the frame of the machine. This means that the machine’s cabling and wiring protected, unlike that of other similar machines.

The QXSD 6 — Powered Double-Sided Decoiler

The Engage QXSD 6 is the perfect decoiling solution for customers in high production environments who need to be able to change coils and not slow their Rollforming lines. The machine can be outfitted with a coil cart for even higher production. The machine can increase overall Rollforming efficiency by about 25% by attacking the slowest part of roll forming : coil changes. The machine comes in several weight arrangements.
